- President Roosevelt’s 1905 inauguration featured two official inaugural medals.
- The Inaugural Committee authorized Joseph K. Davison’s Sons to strike a bronze medal, depicted above. Additionally, Roosevelt requested that Augustus Saint-Gaudens design a second commemorative medal.
- No gold or silver versions of the 1905 Barber Medal were struck.
- Charles Barber designed the obverse of the 1905 Medal, while George Morgan crafted the reverse. Barber is remembered for his work on the quarter, half-dollar and dollar and Morgan for his silver dollar.
